Reasons Not To Mess With Children

Reasons Not To Mess With Children

A little girlwas talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl
stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'. The teacher
asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?' The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'.

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God.' The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what God looks like.' Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, 'They will in a minute.'

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to'honor' thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, 'Is there a commandment that
teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?' Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head. She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, 'Why are some of your hairs white, Mum?' Her mother replied,
'Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white..'
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, 'Mummy, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?'

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture. 'Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say,'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'A small voice at the back of the room rang out, 'And there's the teacher, she's dead.'

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, 'Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.' 'Yes,' the class said. 'Then why is it thatwhile I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?' A little fellow shouted, 'Cause your feet ain't empty.'

The children were lined up in the cafeteriaof a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on theapple tray: 'Take only ONE . God is watching.' Moving further along the lunch line,at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples.'

North Texas High School Rodeo Association

Ethan will be on the Mansfield High School Rodeo Team. He is a member to the North Texas High School Rodeo Association (NTHSRA). http://www.nthsra.org/

North Texas High School Rodeo Association
Our 36th Season of Hosting High School Rodeo Competition
« Weekly September thru June in Saginaw, Texas »

NTHSRA is an association across North Texas of high school students, grades 9-12, who participate in rodeos held mainly in Saginaw, Texas. We are celebrating our 36th year, which runs September through June. While rodeo is not organized as a regular high school varsity sport, no other athletic activity in history was ever developed which so embodies the traditions in history of an entire way of life. The events in rodeo grew out of actual day-to-day duties of the American cowboy, or were dreamed up to further test the courage, stamina and ability of these Westerners. One of the most unique aspects of high school rodeo is that these athletes compete on the same stock that is used by college and professional rodeo contestants. Many of the young athletes you will see competing in bareback and saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, goat tying, tie-down and breakaway calf roping, barrel racing, pole bending, and team roping are world class athletes who compete not only in high school rodeos, but in professional and adult amateur rodeos as well. The cowboy or cowgirl and the animals used in the rodeo compete against themselves and the clock, as much as they compete against each other.NTHSRA is a self-supporting, non-profit organization. We require our members to conduct themselves in an exemplary manner, to abide by a strict dress code when competing, and to “play by the rules.” We also require them to maintain their grades at the same level it takes to play high school sports in their respective schools. Education is of paramount importance to this organization, and we have a scholarship program in place to help further the education of all members. We encourage each contestant in that endeavor. In summary, the NTHSRA provides a unique opportunity for Texas youth to participate in one of the most rewarding sports experiences available anywhere – and, you don’t have to be born in the saddle to get involved!

Alvarado firefighters may have saved ...

FIRE TRUCK

FIRE HOUSE FIRE AND RESCUE NEWS

By PETE KENDALLCleburne Times-Review, Texas

Rapid response time from Alvarado firefighters may have saved the bulk of historic Willow Springs Baptist Church after fire broke out Saturday night.
Capt. Joel Marrs, firefighters Brian Mathis and Ed Kopnick and volunteer Ivan Cox were all on duty at Alvarado Fire Department when the call came in at 7:03 p.m.
The fire crew arrived at the church, located four miles east of the city on Farm-to-Market Road 1807, at 7:11.
Three paid firefighters man each shift at AFD. Marrs, Mathis and Kopnick are paid.
That was the reason for the quick turnaround, chief Richard Van Winkle said.
"Oh, yes. Had the response been delayed, the fire really would have blossomed and probably taken down the whole structure. We were able to arrive quickly with four people."
Units from Keene, Venus and Grandview also responded.
"Keene responded pretty quickly, too," Van Winkle said. "They have paid firefighters at their station."
When Alvarado firefighters arrived at the inferno, Van Winkle said, they discovered "fire in the main entry to the sanctuary," he said. "The fire had made it into the attic. It really hadn't gotten very big. It looked bigger than it was. Our guys were able to get inside and pull the ceiling down. They got the fire cut off and ventilated it to keep it in that area."
The damage was primarily confined to the sanctuary, Van Winkle said.
"And probably half the roof had some damage. We caused some of that pulling the ceiling down. There were two ceilings. One was probably the original ceiling. There was smoke damage to the rest of the building, but the structure is salvageable."
Cause of the fire was undetermined as of Monday.
"It appears to have been accidental," Van Winkle said. "We don't suspect anything. People at the church said the building had some old wiring."
The church recently celebrated its 120th anniversary. It was chartered on June 18, 1888, and has operated continuously.
It is listed as a historical site with the Johnson County Historical Preservation Society.

Me And You lyrics --- Kenny Chesney

BRIAN AND JODI WEDDING JUNE 22 1991

Me And You lyrics

Written by:
Skip Ewing & Ray Herndon

Ordinary?

No! I really don't think so,

Not a love this true.

Common destiny, we were meant to be, me and you.

Like a perfect scene from a movie screen,

We're a dream come true.

Suited perfectly, for eternity, me and you.

CHORUS:

Everyday, well I need you even more,

And the nighttime too.

There's no way,

I could ever let you go.

Even if I wanted to.

Everyday I live,

(I) try my best to give,

All I have to you.

Thank the stars above,

that we share this love,

me and you

CHORUS

Ordinary?

No! I really don't think so,

Just a precious few.

Ever make it last, are as lucky as

me and you.

AN IRISH FRIENDSHIP WISH

"AN IRISH FRIENDSHIP WISH"

Good Luck!!

I hope it works...

May there always be work for your hands to do;

May your purse always hold a coin or two;

May the sun always shine on your windowpane;

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend always be near you;

May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you."

Artist: Brooks Garth Song: Rodeo

Artist: Brooks Garth Song: Rodeo

His eyes are cold and restless
His wounds have almost healed
And she'd give half of Texas
Just to change the way he feels
She knows his love's in Tulsa
And she knows he's gonna go
Well it ain't no woman flesh and blood
It's that damned old rodeo
Well it's bulls and blood
It's dust and mud
It's the roar of a Sunday crowd
It's the white in his knuckles
The gold in the buckle
He'll win the next go 'round
It's boots and chaps
It's cowboy hats
It's spurs and latigo
It's the ropes and the reins
And the joy and the pain
And they call the thing rodeo
She does her best to hold him
When his love comes to call
But his need for it controls him
And her back's against the wall
And it's So long girl I'll see you
When it's time for him to go
You know the woman wants her cowboy
Like he wants his rodeo
Well it's bulls and blood
It's dust and mud
It's the roar of a Sunday crowd
It's the white in his knuckles
The gold in the buckle
He'll win the next go 'round
It's boots and chaps
It's cowboy hats
It's spurs and latigo
It's the ropes and the reins
And the joy and the pain
And they call the thing rodeo
It'll drive a cowboy crazy
It'll drive the man insane
And he'll sell off everything he owns
Just to pay to play her game
And a broken home and some broken bones
Is all he'll have to show
For all the years that he spent chasin
'This dream they call rodeo
Well it's bulls and blood
It's dust and mud
It's the roar of a Sunday crowd
It's the white in his knuckles
The gold in the buckle
He'll win the next go 'round
It's boots and chapsIt's cowboy hats
It's spurs and latigo
It's the ropes and the reins
And the joy and the pain
And they call the thing rodeo
It's the broncs and the blood
It's the steers and the mud
And they call the thing rodeo

BILLY BOB'S TEXAS

Photobucket

ETHAN RODE AT BILLY BOB'S TEXAS LAST NIGHT. IT WAS HIS FIRST RIDE IN FRONT OF A CROWD. HE WAS INTRODUCED BEFORE THE SHOW BEGAN. ETHAN GOT TO BREAK IN HIS NEW CHAPS LAST NIGHT.

The new Billy Bob's Bull Riding series is produced by former NFR Bull Rider Billy Minick along with C.K. Reid of Double R Rodeo Company. Minick has produced such prestigious rodeos as The Fort Worth Stock Show, Houston Livestock show and Rodeo, San Antonio, San Angelo, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and others. Reid provides the stock at the Stockyards Championship Rodeo in Cowtown Coliseum.
Bull Riding is held every Friday and Saturday night, with 2 performances, at 9 and 10 pm. A separate jackpot is held each night.
Entries will be taken each Thursday from 6 - 10 pm254-582-7063254-371-7343
Billy Bob's Texas is the first & largest night club in America with Real Live! Bull Riding. We do not have a mechanical bull
Over the past 20 years, more than 25, 000 bulls have bucked in Billy Bob's arena. It's not unusual to see top professional bull riders test their skills on the back of a twisting bull.
Our list of riders has included World Champions such as Tuff Hedeman, Ty Murray and Adriano Moraos as well as the many up and coming local & regional competitors that are here each week.
Bull riding is a dangerous sport, and competitors at Billy Bob's must be pro or semipro athletes. This means they must have a riders card from the sanctioning rodeo sanctioning organization or open competitors we recognize.
Bulls generally weigh between 1,800 and 2,000 pounds. When compared to that of most bull riders at 150 pounds, this is quite overwhelming. It requires training, skill, and a good dose of courage to compete in this event.

Feed the TURTLES!! thanks to Jake for the turtles!
